  1. For me an IJO would be AQJ to 7 and an outside ace or similar. I might chance 3nt opposite that as North hoping for 7 diamonds, ace of spades and another trick in the wash.
  2. I haven't heard any good arguments to change my mind. I still pass.
  3. What would 4C be? Double might work well, followed by a jump in clubs. All a bit of a guess.
  4. What defence am I playing to Multi?
  5. Yes, 4C looks right here. If partner bids 4S I have a problem.
  6. This one I pass. 3 small clubs and a suit headed by the K7 is not enough V vs NV
  7. Yes, my 6th card pushes me to make this overcall. How many did I go for?
  8. [hv=pc=n&s=saq843haqjt4da6ca&n=sk762h953dt5cq842&d=n&v=e&b=9&a=pp2c2dp3d3sppp]266|200[/hv] Neither 2C not 3S were bids of beauty, but on every planet surely a) 3S is forcing, and b) even if it isn't, GIB should bid game.
  9. There appear to be 2 distinct styles for 3 level overcalls. One is where a 3 level overcall shows a good hand, and partner is expected to use his values. The other is this OBAR style. If the later is being used, this hand is a clear pass.

  11. I still don't see what's wrong with raising a partner who can overcall vulnerable at the 3 level with 5 trumps, a singleton and 5-5 shape.
  12. If I pass the first time then I think I have to act - I actually have quite a good hand for the first pass. If I bid the first time then this is an auto-pass.
  13. 1S (P) 2S (3C) 4S (5C) ???? Looks a likely start to the auction. No idea where it ends up though.
  14. 5H is automatic. If I were nige, then 5H=10 anything else = 0
  15. If I bid 2NT and partner raises to 3NT, surely I have to pass, otherwise I definitely would be better off just bidding 3S in the first instance. If I bid 2NT, my plan is to raise spades after partner shows a second suit. Note that I bid 4S after 3C/3H, not 3S. I don't particularly want partner to get it wrong
  16. What Gordon said. I don't want to overcall on a 4 card suit with a fairly mediocre hand.
  17. Assuming something vaguely natural 2C 2D 2H 2S 3S (Kokish relay) 5S (feel less certain about this one, feels too good to bid 4S but can't see another bid that would set spades) 6C (cue) 6H (cue) 7S There's a fair bit of resulting there.
  18. I'm going to raise spades here. 3NT from p after a spade raise is still an option and I could be much worse for spades for my 1nt bid.
  19. I open 1D playing any naturalish system. This is good enough to reverse on. It's rare that I won't open my longest suit with 6-5s and this is far from minimum.
  20. I do bid 2S, but I'm tempted by pass, since I have a lot more defence against hearts than p might expect and he might well bid 3S or 4S over 3/4H expecting me to have less wastage in the heart suit.
  21. To play. Something like Kxx and an outside useful card. Partner has a good hand for his second X
  22. Uggh at all the vulnerable bidders on this heap. Insta pass for me.
  23. 4S S -1 25% and 4S S - 2 75%. 5H is not allowed given the UI
  24. Pass is I'm interested in whether you have first or second round control, redouble is FYO
