onoway - your tournament would show up in the 'eligible tournaments' list once you lifted the restrictions but not beforehand which is perfect. barmar - you make a number of good points that will be useful, thanks. I never thought 'filter by search' so maybe BBO should still add a check box. The free tournaments - good point. Still need an eligible tournaments filter.

Often I'm curious how many people found the ♦ lead and clicking manually is annoying. I'd like this feature both in the app and myhands. Thanks.

Please offer an option to filer the available tournaments. A couple of suggestions i) Filter by Individual/Pairs. ii) Filter by robot/human iii) Filter by 'Am I eligible to play in this tournament?' iv) Pay/free tourneys v) ABCL tourneys. Out of these iii) is by far the most important. Depending upon time over half the pairs tourneys aren't open to me, having to click on them to find they're language specific is a frustrating UI experience. This is particularly bad at European prime time. I don't see much reason for these tournaments to appear at all. Private club tournaments are often available for people who register, thus perhaps BBO should offer filter private tournaments & filter language tournament options. Re. i), currently the next 15 tournaments scheduled to start are all individual, if I want to play with my partner the ui experience of scrolling is frustrating. Add in language tournaments and I might have to scroll through 40 tournaments to find 2 pair tournaments I'm eligible to play in. Please add this and I'll love you forever D

It's frustrating to see tournaments listed that I'm not eligible for due to language or some other reason. Sometimes I can't tell whether I'm excluded or not so I click to register, get the news, return to the tournament lobby but am now in a different area of the tournament lobby (time wise) to before, so I have to scroll down. Ideally there would be options to differentiate between tournaments the user can never play (because of language) and those she needs to fill in some form to become a member of some club and hence eligible.

Does anyone know somewhere I could get my mum a few games of bridge near the Wicker Park area? She's no Zia but she's very very nice.

May we ban them from sitting at another table for 5 minutes? I've had hands where literally 8 people have joined and immediately left, including the guys who join multiple times. It's really bad form, but also makes it clear that that particular hand has very few points, which affects the play if you're in a 24 points 3NT contract.

May we have an option to see if a vugraph table has audio commentary before clicking on it? I like audio commentary and would prefer not to click on all 6/8/whatever World Championship tables to find which one will offer me Roland's dulcet tones.

May we please have options to filter for individual/pairs tourney and for MP/IMPs and for tournaments we're actually eligible for?

E/W have no partnership agreement ("2/1 or SAYC p?" "SAYC" "OK"), in this scenario are you allowed to ask him about his double? I think that's unethical, you're basically asking him to tell you if he has a void or not, no?

I think the decision at trick 1 is interesting, what are the potential gains from all three possibilities?

This one was pretty tricky. North just bid 6d, but he wanted a way to find out if bidding a grand slam was better. Suggestions? [hv=pc=n&s=sj864hq54dkt9742c&n=sat52hdaq86cakjt2&d=s&v=e&b=3&a=2dp6ddppp]266|200[/hv] West leads the 9♣. i) Plan the play. ii) You play the ♣Jack, North covers and you ruff in hand. Plan? iii) How do your answers change if we are in 7♦? iv) How do you answers change sans North's double?

I think so, p(E&W ≥ 22 points | N&S < 21 points) is pretty high (anyone know the exact probability?) -
I don't see how to get a .jpg via that option. I want to embed hands in an email or text document.

Difference between double and 3s here?

Please delete this and the basically duplicate thread. Thanks!! -
All vul, matchpoints. Sayc but if it's different for 2/1 I'd like to know. 1♥-p-2♦-2♠ 3♥-p-

I like to email hand discussion, is there a way to include an image of the hand (you get the option of a url with a jpeg or a download) without having to take a screenshot? If there isn't and you want to add it as an option, you should add various options like displaying selected hands instead of them all, sending a screen of the hands after trick 5 and so on.

Bidding table suggestion thread

I don't know how to provide the dealer script that I used, but I specified N-S minimum 22 points, and nothing else. We bid about 20 hands this way (before adjusting things a little) and on two of them it was nowhere close. -

Yes. That wasn't clear. A 'pass for the rest of hand' checkbox. I haven't tried listening to voice commentary for vugraph as I wasn't aware it existed (it's a great move). I've only watched a few vugraphs since coming back to BBO so perhaps none of them had voice. -
The host should have a checkbox entitled 'opponents pass all'. I was playing some hands where I gave the opponents open a weak two, and then having to click pass every time thereafter was really annoying. A bunch of times I forgot I had to click pass, and bid as East, then I had to click undo, re-enter my bid, pass as West, my partner had to rebid, and then I had to pass as East again. Annoying! Also, I don't know if you're aware of this but on a few boards it didn't give us the correct hands. e.g N/S minimum 22 points http://i.imgur.com/iqvBSY8.png All the others were correct. We tried using the speakers, but it didn't work. I could see when my partner was speaking (the little bar thingy was moving) but could not hear him, and my partner could neither hear me nor see the bar moving. I checked my microphone on Skype and it worked fine. I was using Chrome and I clicked 'yes' when a popup asked me if I wanted to allow BBO to use my microphone and webcam. BTW, I haven't played on BBO in a long time, and basically had never used the web client, and I am extremely impressed by it. Very intuitive, lots of really useful features, such as the ability to tinyurl a hand, the automated tourneys that are really fun and addictive and many others, such as the GIB analysis post hand. Talking of which, I'd like to see an option to get a 4 * 5 table showing the maximum amount of tricks each declarer could make in the 5 'suits' (It's nice to know that I could have stopped their overtrick in 4♥, but how would a 4♠ sacrifice go (yes, I know I should try and work it out single dummy, but sometimes I want convenience from convenient things).
