  1. Why all this slammish direct: on firtst hand 1rf but not GF; over 2N/3N bid 3N tp (no fit) or 4N quant. othet seq of course possible on snd hand 5+♠ 4+♥ GF over 3N 4♥ tp any 4m 5-5 slamgoing
  2. read the comments dont agree by playng it this way you always end up in 4-3 and as a plus in 5-3 ♠
  3. My agreement ♥ + ♠ partn must corrocr to 2s with equal lenght in ♥/♠ so 5♠+4♥ possible
  4. 5♥ a ten dont think so partner heard you bid 3N and ran so he doe ha a zero ok mabey the j of ♣; this auction stinks like hell i would never ever bid 5♥ x comes to mind may cost a lot because i told opps i hold the K♦ so it may be made; again no vul given but i think i go for pass and hope myn prtn lead a club we are not going to make anything o this board in my opinion not vul ill try 5♣

i bid 5♥ ptn showin general values ( with a real pen he should pass and hope i dbl on gnrl values), freq is more often than some kind of pen pass. May be good good may be wrong: bottom line no one to blame for a bad result congrats your opps with courtesy.
  6. i really hate this prob: you dont give opps bidding agreements, you dont give my hand. It all doesnt make sense: no 2Nt by prtn na dia support by opps no 3ha by opps: prtn weak with a lot of spades and soem vlubs is he an idiot?? it all doesnt count up only 6 very good 6sp and 4c and opps playing 2 d nf make sense to me
  7. Sorry, don't have specifics. It was a conversation in general about doubles which, over the past several years have become more and more artificial or takeout-oriented, and that the trend seems to be moving back. I don't know if their observations were accurate, but they seemed to believe it. I don't have the contacts any more to try to validate their statements, nor will it affect what pard and I have decided to make takeout or penalty. I was just sharing what they shared. Game theory would suggest that changing tendencies is optimal. ;) Game Theory in Bridge I agree with you as far as in theory. But as you know game theory has a flaw. It cant handle the unpredictable... So my conclusion is: Optimal strategy is knowing your opponents tendencies, but keeping unpredictable yourself.
  8. 3♦ GF why not?? Allways show (at least) 9 cards instead of 6 (unless your 6-card suit looks like 7 and your 4 card suit looks like 3 ;) . btw if prt would rebid 3N i would even bid 4♥ on this hand.
  9. I agree completely: 1♣ f1R frees 2♦ I play it as mini multi either 1-suited ♦ or a weak jump shift in ♥/♠, short clubs will be bid on the next round.
  10. In your methods: 4♠ In my methods (dbl = penalty request and 3♥= all game tries) I find the problem harder. In teams i think i'll pass but not red against green. In pairs it's a coin flip between 3♥ and 4♠
