  1. An interesting effect of not playing transfers is that the sequence 1N (p) 2H (2S); p (p) 3C is unambiguously not game forcing.
  2. I always double when I hold the ace and queen of trumps
  3. I was going to bid 2C but I saw a unanimous vote for pass and I was too scared to vote. Now 655321 has bid 2C and I look like I'm parroting. Bye 50.

I'm going to go upvote someone now. Edit: Thanks gwnn! I'd post again, but that'd put me at 51. Upvotes for anyone who posts in this thread. Edit 2: Nice try, dwar0123! Edit 3: Man, upvoting is great.
  5. Our local club uses bridgemates (or bridgepads? whatever) to record team games, I think. You get assigned a bridgemate and you carry it with you for the entire event.
  6. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. Edit: I may have responded to a straw man, which is unfortunate.
  7. as a non-expert I will bid 1S
Pancetta boudin pork loin rump. Sausage ea quis culpa drumstick. Elit do commodo sausage duis, excepteur ex non tail id turkey.
  9. No problem. This is a very convenient way to get my post count toward 50.
  10. If advancer rebids 2H, that is his weakest possible action. It does not even guarantee extra hearts. No matter what, responder's hand is limited to like 0-8ish. So everything is within that framework. I'd guess that 3H is at the top of that range, with a 5th heart. 2S would be like 5H4S. (With 44 majors in response to a takeout double, we bid spades first.)
  11. what a bad hand Say we pass it around and partner doubles. Now what? I would just leave it in. Is that crazy?
  12. I would just double again and bid 3S over the expected 3H
  13. I dunno. I was just trying to come up with obscure stuff since I really don't know what this auction shows. But we certainly don't have to reinvent the wheel and find another way to GF with spades, was my main point.
  14. How will you ever know when to pull then? Maybe next time it goes off 2 and you're cold for your red slam. In your collective attempt to beat this contract doubled, you turned a plus into a minus (even without the 6H spite)
  15. How much better would the hand have to be before bidding 6H over partner's takeout double? I thought 6H was pretty automatic but I see no one really chose it.
