  1. [hv=pc=n&e=skt985hkdk72cakj8&d=s&v=0&b=11&a=1spp]133|200[/hv] Are you a passer or a bidder? If bidding, what do you bid.
  2. Simple question, is it standard to play support doubles in an auction like 1♥(1♠) 2♦ (2♠), or do they only apply after one level response by partner? Thanks in advance
  3. I have played this, both as a defence to 1NT and as openings. I don't really like it as either, especially here in NZ where everyone plays a weak NT, and you would like to have constructive auctions when they open 1NT. I do quite like the weak multi opening though, especially when the auction goes 2♦ pass pass and third hand has no idea what is going on. The M+m two suiters seem to preempt partner lots.

  5. Of course it is.. I have no idea what I (wasn't) thinking
  6. Cheers for this. I understand the first auction, but can you explain what 5♣ is in the second auction? Maybe it's obvious but I can't work it out.
  7. [hv=pc=n&s=sa972hkq43dat4cq8&n=skjhaj75d9cakt972]133|200[/hv] South is dealer and opens 15-17 NT. How should North proceed?

  9. [hv=pc=n&n=saqhjdajt98653c54&d=s&v=b&b=7&a=1c(2+)1s2dp3cp]133|200[/hv] What do you bid now?
  10. Play 1NT = 11-14 including any 5332, and play some system to find it if you like. One of the biggest advantages of a weakNT is that 1 of a suit is either 15+ or unbalanced.
  11. Thanks everyone for your input, I'm glad I wasn't mistaken. Forgive my ignorance, but what is a DP? (edited for a typo)
  12. Last night at the club I held some hand, and after partner lead and declarer played from dummy instantly I thought for a while, declarer saying "How long are we gonna have to wait for this card". I happened to have a singleton but I'm not sure if this is relavent. At the end of the hand, declarer told me that she would call the director on me if I paused again during the match. Could someone explain the laws to me here? I thought that I was allowed to think at trick one, and that because I always think then, it gives no information to my partner? Also, if you have to play fast with a singleton, and you think for a moment when you don't, can't partner infer that you don't have a singleton if you pause? Seems pretty bad to me if that's the case. Thanks. Andrew
  13. This sequence was undiscussed, but I figured that parnter had two ways to bid here, and that a suit after the XX would be scrambling, so this bid must show some values?.At the table I bid 2♠ and partner raised to 3. I thought I had a clear raise to game then.
