  1. Just play it out extremely slowly. If West complains, say there's obviously some problem you haven't spotted, so you're being very careful.

  2. Try this for size (each fruit represents a positive integer): If you're lazy, you can find the solution here:

  4. 1. No, if W has 3 to the K, he will wait a long time for the third round if you play if you play ♠AQ and he ducks, declarer now switches to clubs and the contract is just cold, but if W wins the second one and makes declarer ruff a heart he's sunk. 2/3 diamond K just loses, E wins and plays a heart, what now ? Q♠ wins because if E ducks you cash A♠ then rumble clubs, if he wins, you ruff the heart with the A, cross to the J10 to draw trumps then play clubs.

  5. I'm not so sure about that. Claiming on a spade lead suggests to me that declarer thinks there are 6 club tricks. On a similar BridgeWinners topic, Laurie Kelso says that it is not normal play for declarer to fail to notice that the CJ is still outstanding when running a suit (this one was AK9xx opposite QTx). However, the ten is a much easier card to miss, so why would you not assume that declarer has just miscounted clubs and award down one?

  6. It helps if you play some sort of defence against Gambling. I recommend Multi Landy, so bid 4C to show both majors. If partner makes simple preference (4M), you can ask for key cards because partner's possible key card(s) is not going to be the ace of diamonds. If partner asks for longer major with 4D, jump to 5S.
